The Tech Labs verdict

Bitwarden is a strong candidate if your immediate goal is to stop reusing passwords. Its free individual plan lets you evaluate a dedicated vault before deciding whether paid conveniences or sharing features justify an upgrade.

The important work is the migration. Start with your main email account and other high-value logins, replace reused passwords, and enable multi-factor authentication on the vault. Store recovery information somewhere that does not depend on the vault being unlocked. A password manager reduces one class of mistakes; it does not make a compromised device trustworthy.

Try autofill on the browsers and phones you actually use. If you share access with a household or team, test permissions and recovery before moving every account. This is a research-based recommendation, not a security audit of Bitwarden's infrastructure.
